Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraiser Saturday

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County will be hosting its annual Community and Corporate Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser on Saturday, March 6.

This event is the group's largest bowling fundraiser of the season and will be held at the Brunswick Zone - Hawthorn in Vernon Hills, starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

The fundraising event is open to all donors, community members, volunteers and corporate partners of Big Brothers Big Sisters who can fundraise or donate a minimum of $100 to participate. Our corporate partners such as Abbott, Baxter, Cardinal Health and Meridian Leasing have teams signed up. Come bowl two games, win raffle items, enjoy music generously provided by Joe Balsamo of Lake Forest and have a great time supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County holds bowling fundraising parties throughout Lake County every year, and this year's Community and Corporate Bowl is just one of the agency's Bowl for Kids' Sake activities. Last year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County raised more than $40,000 to help children throughout Lake County from their Bowl for Kids' Sake events, and this year's goal is $60,000.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County's mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with measurable impact. The group strives to offer successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.

"The impact mentoring has on the life of a child and the mentors themselves is priceless," says CEO Jeremy Foster. "We know mentoring works because the research has shown that the children in our programs improve academically and have a better self-image. Volunteering to be a Big Brother or Big Sister is easy and one of the most rewarding experiences a person will ever encounter."

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County is Lake County's premier youth mentoring organization, serving over 500 children annually.
