'Glee' coming to Rosemont as part of tour

"Glee" fans (aka Gleeks) rejoice! Stars of the Golden Globe-winning Fox TV series are coming to Rosemont as part of a four-city concert tour.

After dates in Phoenix and Los Angeles, "'Glee' Live in Concert!" is set to play the Rosemont Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 25 and 26. The concert tour then wraps up at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

According to playbill.com, the concerts will feature stars Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt) and others. The concert will feature songs in the series like "Don't Stop Believin," "Jump," "Don't Rain on My Parade" and more.

But not everyone in the series is scheduled to appear. Missing are two major "Glee" stars, Tony-nominee Matthew Morrison (glee club coach Will Schuester) and Jane Lynch (conniving cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester).

"This has been such an extraordinary year for 'Glee' and I can't think of a better way to finish up the first season than performing live on stage with the cast," said Broadway veteran Lea Michele ("Spring Awakening") in a statement.

Tickets for the Rosemont engagement are $39.50-$79.50 (before fees and surcharges) and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, through Ticketmaster and the Rosemont Theatre box office. Call (800) 745-3000 or visit GleeTour2010.com.

The show was created in part by Mount Prospect native Ian Brennan and inspired by his days at Prospect High School.

New episodes of "Glee" resume locally on Tuesday, April 13, on WFLD Channel 32.

"Glee" stars, from left, Jenna Ushkowitz, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Lea Michele and Chris Colfer are to be part of "'Glee' Live! In Concert!" which stops at the Rosemont Theatre on Tuesday, May 25. Tickets go on sale noon Saturday through Ticketmaster.
