Cameras are a trap to out-of-towners

I travel into Roselle several times a week. I received a red-light camera violation citation for a $100 a few weeks back, and when I protested the village clerk told me he had determined that, in his opinion, I had violated the stoplight by not stopping long enough before making a right turn.

He also stated that if I wanted a traffic judge to review the "violation" I would have to pay the judge's fee, which (the clerk hinted) would probably exceed the $100 violation amount. I assumed that this "clerk" has some sort of judicial background that enabled him to determine that my vehicle had indeed committed the violation. Apparently, in Roselle, you're guilty until proven innocent!

I also assume that the Roselle politicians do not enforce these "violations" on the Roselle citizens because they (the politicians) wouldn't remain in office long.
