Jewish schools notify parents of teacher's arrest

Administrators at three Chicago-area Jewish schools have been notifying families of students this week that a teacher at the schools has been arrested on child pornography charges.

After a search by federal agents, 53-three-year-old Richard Mann of Evanston was charged Wednesday with transporting child pornography over his computer.

Mann served as a part-time music teacher at Chicago Jewish Day School and Congregation Sinai's school in Chicago and as a substitute teacher at Solomon Schechter Day School of Metropolitan Chicago's Northbrook and Skokie campuses.

The schools' leaders said a letter went out to families as soon as they found out about the arrest. All three institutions assured families that there was no evidence of misconduct with students.

It was not immediately known whether Mann had an attorney.
