SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois House voted 83-27 in favor of ending the free ride program for seniors on Chicago-area mass transportation. The freebie would be limited to lower income seniors. All others would revert to getting half-price fares, which are required by federal law. The legislation now advances to the Illinois Senate.
