Montini snaps losing streak

Montini snapped a 14-game losing streak on Tuesday, beating IMSA 52-24 in nonconference action in Lombard.

The game was tied 13-13 after a quarter. Montini (3-22) outscored IMSA 14-7 in the second quarter and rolled to a 48-22 lead after three quarters.

Tyshawn Johnson's 11 points led 10 Broncos scorers. Tom Murray added 9 points with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

Plainfield South 41, Waubonsie Valley 40: Plainfield South out-rebounded Waubonsie 35-16 in the nonconference game in Plainfield. Waubonsie Valley (8-17) was led by Josh Lynn with 11 points and Tyler Perkins with 10.

Morton 59, Hinsdale South 58: Hinsdale South's Phil George and Morton's Mike Coleman each made six 3-pointers, but visiting Morton (11-12, 6-5) won the West Suburban Gold contest in Darien. George scored a game-high 22 points to Coleman's 20. Hinsdale South (14-10, 4-7) got 18 points from Brock Benson.
