Tiger's indiscretions aren't irrelevant
For someone who is always writing columns about the importance of family, Barry Rozner's brushoff and dismissal of Tiger Woods extramarital affairs is contradictory. To state "he owes us nothing" is appalling.
Athletes, like politicians, are the faces of our society and diplomats for our culture, just like our Olympic athletes who represent our nation. It gives the rest of the world an insight into the morals of our country and what we stand for. The bottom line is, does that person make us proud or ashamed? It's bad enough that gold diggers were his choice when he had a beautiful wife and children at home - but prostitutes and porn stars?
Tiger Woods is making up for lost time. In college, he was referred to as "Urkel" (enough said). Now, he has an air of entitlement and arrogance because he has attained status as the No. 1 golfer in the world and is one of the richest athletes of all time. Sadly, in our society, money has overtaken any other qualities like decency, morals and integrity. For the people who think Tiger's "indiscretions" are his own personal matter, how many of you are hiding behind that statement? Sex addiction therapy? What a cop out.
