Naperville's homegrown heroes

If you think ours is a city known for heroes, you're correct.

There's a Saint whose name is Payton and that skater Lysacek.

Harry Kalas got his start here as did pretty Paula Zahn.

Then, of course, there's Jerry Hairston, yet another favorite son.

Candace Parker's brand of round ball first began in Naper Town.

It's the home of Lyle Schaller, most prolific "coach" around.

And our city claims a soldier

who died serving you and me.

This young hero among heroes was our own Jack Hennessy.

It's a place where seeds of greatness have been planted through the years.

Naperville knows how to nurture those who grow to garner cheers.
