St. Charlesbull; Charles Edward Callahan, 18, of the 1100 block of Struckman Boulevard in Bartlett, and James A. Mottashed, 18, of the 31W100 block of Prairie Lane in Wayne, were charged Feb. 12 with drug-related offenses, according to a police report. Police stopped Callahan and Mottashed for a speeding violation and noticed a strong odor of cannabis in the vehicle and a green plant stem in Callahan's lap. Police then found a grinder used for preparing cannabis for ingestion or sale and a plastic bag filled with what appeared to be cannabis in Callahan's pants pockets. Callahan also had a small electronic gram scale in his pocket. Police discovered Mottashed had a small amount of cannabis in his coat pocket. Mottashed was charged with possession of cannabis. Callahan had a much larger quantity of cannabis (64.17 grams). He was also found to have 11 Valium pills for which he had no prescription. Callahan was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.bull; At least 12 homes were shot up with paintballs on Feb. 14, police said. The incidents occurred on the 3000 block of East Francis Circle, the 3500 block of Charlemagne Lane, the 600 block of Adams Avenue, the 600 block of Jackson Avenue, the 700 block of Monroe Avenue, the 300 block of Red Sky Drive, the 700 block of South 7th Avenue, the 1000 block of Ronzheimer Avenue, the 400 block of Horizon Drive and the 1200 block of Illinois Avenue.
