Fundraiser for dog, cat rescue:

A fundraiser for Barrington-based Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus (IDR+) will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Tinman's Pub at the corner of routes 14 and 22 in Fox River Grove. Thirty pieces of high-quality meat will be raffled off.

Admission is free and winners must be present. The fundraiser also will feature live music, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and food. The bar will be open for beverages. Over the past six years, IDR+ has found permanent homes for 3,000 Dobermans and "plus" dogs, which are non-Dobermans and mixes. Hundreds of cats have also been placed. The fundraiser will help the rescue generate money for food and vet care for the animals currently up for adoption.
