You're invited to Gustafson's 8th annual Fun Fair
The PTO of Alice Gustafson School in Batavia invites the community to its annual Fun Fair from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26. This year's theme is "Gators on Safari," so grab your binoculars and come explore the jungle of fun activities which include games for kids of all ages, food at the "Watering Hole" food area, a Chinese raffle and prizes.
Purchase your punch cards and raffle tickets at the door. Each punch card sells for $5 and has 20 punches. The punch cards can also be used for food purchases as well as keeping track of your winnings from each game and redeeming for prizes. Activities include the popular cake walk, pop walk, face painting and inflatable obstacle course and moon jump. Dozens of such games as the Duck Pond, Bozo Buckets, and Frog Toss will be stationed in the classrooms. Each game is one punch and inflatables are two punches.
At the "Watering Hole," enjoy pizza, hot dogs, baked potatoes, nachos, popcorn, cotton candy and cookies. Theme-related baskets from the school and Early Childhood Center families and area businesses will be displayed on stage and raffled at the event. Theme baskets include "Cooking," "Reading," "Family & Movie Night," "Get to Know Your Tri-Cities," "Pamper Yourself," "Camping & Fishing," "Arts & Crafts," "Winter & Summer Fun" and more. Purchase a chance to win a Nintendo DSi, four passes to Universal Studios Orlando, VIP tickets to the Shedd Aquarium, a " Casino Night" party in your home, Bulldog jerseys and more. Raffle tickets are $2. Tickets for the 50/50 Raffle are $1 or six for $5.
The annual Fun Fair is organized and conducted by the school's PTO and is one of its biggest fundraisers of the year. The profits benefit the students by providing classroom and curriculum support, enrichment opportunities and funds for special purchases. These include classroom materials, field trips and assemblies.
The school is at 905 Carlisle Road, off Route 31 in Batavia. Use the entrance on the east side of the building.
