Ind. man drives car into Ohio River in Ky.

HENDERSON, Ky. -- Authorities in Henderson say an Evansville, Ind., man has died after driving his car into the Ohio River.

Henderson authorities identified the man as 59-year-old Larry Ray Miller, according to The Gleaner.

A witness called police about 10:45 a.m. Sunday after seeing the car drive off the Hayes Boat Ramp.

Lt. Chip Stauffer of the Henderson Police Department told the newspaper police think Miller intended to drive into the water.

Searchers from three rescue squads responded and found Miller's car downstream. It was pulled from the river at about 2:50 p.m. and Miller was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

Police say Miller was alone in the car when it went into the river.
