Artists wanted for showArtists have until Sunday, Feb. 28 to apply to exhibit their work in the Naperville Woman's Club's 51st juried Fine Art Show. The show, titled "Art With a Heart," will be July 10 and 11 at Naper Settlement in Naperville. Spaces are available for 100 artists, who will be eligible for more than $2,500 in cash prizes and ribbons. The woman's club donates proceeds from the event toward an art scholarship at North Central College in Naperville and to local charities. Artist applications are available at zapplication.org. The one-day boutique on April 10 in the Fred Rodgers Community Center in Aurora allows financially challenged high school junior and senior girls shop for everything they need for a prom free of charge. Donations are tax-deductible and may be dropped off at several locations. For details, visit jlkd.org.Graue Mill seeks volunteersGraue Mill and Museum in Oak Brook is looking for volunteers to help accommodate large numbers of school groups and other visitors who attend each year. Classes for volunteers begin mid-March and meet once a week for five weeks. The classes teach basic spinning and weaving skills and provide information about local history and how to interpret it to others. Volunteers are asked to commit to one or two, three-hour shifts per month. Other volunteers are needed to help with collecting, office work and gardening.
