DePaul lets late lead slip to Louisville, drops eighth straight
Terrence Jennings scored just nine points, but he hit one of the game's biggest baskets with 7:11 to play to launch Louisville's game-winning rally on the way to a 68-59 victory over DePaul on Saturday.
Jennings' jumper started an 11-2 run that ultimately put the Cardinals in command 59-51 with 3:02 to play.
The victory was the third straight and fifth in six games for Louisville (18-9, 9-5 Big East), which opened the week with a 66-60 upset of No. 5 Syracuse and followed with a double-overtime home victory over Notre Dame.
The Blue Demons (8-18, 1-13) suffered their season-high eighth straight loss. DePaul is now 1-31 over the last two seasons in Big East regular-season play.
Mac Koshwal paced the Blue Demons with a game-high 26 points, tying a season high. He added 10 rebounds.
A large contingent of Louisville fans -- about half the announced crowd of 13,754 -- watched as the Cardinals rallied from a 49-48 deficit. Jennings followed his first jumper with another as the late run got under way, and Edgar Sosa came up with with a three-point play as the lead grew to 55-49.
The Cardinals led 32-27 at halftime after a first half that included four lead changes, the last with 6:35 showing when Kyle Kuric hit a 3-pointer for a 22-21 Louisville edge. Kuric had seven first-half points and Samuels 12.
