Shame on Dist. 300 for teacher contract
Taxpayers within District 300 should be absolutely outraged that their administrators unbelievably ignored economic reality when they extended the teachers contract for another year.
My own salary and those of thousands of other District 300 taxpayers lucky enough to still have jobs have been frozen for more than a year. Thousands of other less fortunate District 300 taxpayers have suffered pay cuts as small and large businesses everywhere struggle to stay afloat in this pitiful economic climate.
Three houses on my short street alone have gone into foreclosure, with three other unfortunate District 300 taxpayers on my street declaring bankruptcy. Yet these spineless administrators extend the teacher's contract that will include raises.
What is it about government that makes them clueless to reality? If the taxpayers who pay for everything are suffering, how can these clueless administrators not hold the line or, if needed, stay within expected income, our taxes, and cut teacher pay?
Demand better now and then vote them all out.
