What have you done for us lately, Toyota?
We own a 2009 Toyota RAV4 that was involved in an accident when we experienced "unintended acceleration." I am sick and tired of Toyota's press releases that invariably begin, "For more than 50 years, Toyota has produced safe, reliable, quality vehicles and provided first-rate service."
I don't care about the last 50 years. When a doctor amputates the wrong leg, does she soothe her patient by writing "During my 20 years as a top-notch surgeon I have never cut off the wrong leg?"
Toyota is endangering millions of people around the world and has become the poster child for the expression "past performance is no guarantee of future success."
