Omission of Al Carius was a travesty

Nice article by Lindsey Willhite about Naperville sport stars, but he neglected to mention the most accomplished sports figure in the history of the town, by far. Al Carius has been the head men's cross country and track coach at North Central College for the last 44 years.

During that time, his teams have won 16 national championships, and have also had 12 second-place finishes. They have won 35 straight conference championships in cross country, and 23 straight in track and field. He has coached more than 400 All-American athletes, and profoundly impacted the lives of thousands more during his hall of fame career. He represents everything that is good in collegiate sports, and to omit him from your article is a travesty.
