Faith Lutheran Church volunteers recognized
Volunteers from Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Road, in Arlington Heights, participated as bell ringers in the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Drive before Christmas. They helped to raise almost $2,000 out of a total of $10 million raised throughout the Chicago area.
The funds are used to pay for a variety of charitable causes such as angel tree, the food pantry, gas, electric, rental assistance and disaster relief.
Captain Jay Davis and Captain Sally Davis of the Des Plaines Corps of the Salvation Army expressed their appreciation and presented the volunteers with bells during a breakfast prepared by Jessie Contreras at Faith Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
