District 214 school board president wins national award

Northwest Suburban High School District 214 school board President Bill Dussling has won the National School Boards Association's Award for Distinguished Service to Public Education.

The recognition is given to about 1 percent of the nation's 95,000 school board members for demonstrating the highest commitment to public education.

"Through his visibility, interest, knowledge, and passion, Bill is the epitome of a school board leader," said Superintendent Dave Schuler. "He is well deserving of this award, and we are very fortunate to have school board members like Bill representing our school district."

An Arlington Heights resident, Dussling has been on District 214's school board for 12 years and is recognized as a Master Board Member by the Illinois Association of School Boards.
