Democrats have insulted the voters
Our primary elections in Illinois first mandate that we must choose one political party for which to vote.
Insult Number One.
They also have independent choices for governor and lieutenant governor, rather than a slate for both.
When Scott Lee Cohen's salacious and potentially criminal, but not unconstitutional, behavior came to light after he was chosen as the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, he was "encouraged" to step down for the good of the party.
I wonder if any laws were violated in the persuasion used to get him to agree since it is very important to the Democratic Party contingents both in Chicago and Washington to maintain control of the Illinois offices in state and federal government, perhaps for favors owed.
Now, it seems that the Democrats have the right to choose anyone they want to replace Cohen rather than accept the lieutenant governor candidate who came in second, Sen. Arthur Turner.
Insult Number Two.
The people have spoken in the primary election. How dare the politicians get a free pass to overturn what the voters have already mandated!
