Health plan would pass if streamlined
If our federal government really wanted to pass health care legislation they would include the following five things and exclude any tax dollar support for abortion, embryonic stem cell research or any euthanasia of our seniors and disabled folks.
Five elements of health care we all could support:
1. Allow the purchase of health care by individuals or corporations across state lines.
2. Provide for serious "tort" reform, so our doctors can afford liability insurance and continue to practice medicine.
3. Grant that anyone with any condition, known or unknown, can purchase an affordable insurance policy or be a part of an existing group coverage plan.
4. An insured cannot be dropped because they're now sick, or refused a service under the guise of "futile" care.
5. Get rid of the life or annual maximum limits on coverage.
The health care reform doesn't need to be "rocket science" or unreadable. Dedicate 10 pages to each of these five suggestions and you'll have yourself a bill that the American people and even our Congress can read and understand.
I think the adage is: KISS! This doesn't have to be hard.
