Thursday's Fox Valley roundup

The number 15 was a good one for the Streamwood girls basketball team Thursday night.

Juniors Emma Schmidt and Michelle Tomczak each scored 15 points and 15 rebounds as the Sabres won for the fourth time in a row, downing Elgin 54-27 in a nonconference game at Chesbrough Field House.

Senior Alex Kowalewski added 9 points for Streamwood, which led 27-5 at halftime.

Abbey Houde had 8 points, while Briana Hamilton and Brandi Hernandez added 7 each for the Maroons (1-24).

St. Charles East 60, Dundee-Crown 25: Megan Fasanella had 11 points to lead the Chargers (2-24) in this nonconference loss at home.

Burlington Central 63, Marengo 44: The Rockets (17-10, 7-3) secured a share of second place in the Big Northern East with this win. Jordan Maisto had 16 points to lead Burlington, while Taylor Colby and Brenda Thasavong added 14 each and Alli Settanni 13. The Rockets were up just 36-30 at halftime but outscored the host Indians 27-14 in the second half to secure the win.

Hampshire 77, Woodstock North 31: Cassie Dumoulin led six Hampshire players in double figures as the Whip-Purs (25-1) raced out to a 44-15 lead at halftime and never looked back in this nonconference game in Woodstock. Chrissy Heine and Alex Dumoulin each had 11 points for the Whips, while Connie Ellett, Karla Vietinghoff and Bridget Dumoulin added 10 each. Cassie Dumoulin had 11 rebounds, and Alex Dumoulin and Heine pulled down 10 each.
