Abortion show and column are offensive

In her article titled, "When abortion meets 'Let's Make a Deal,'" Kathleen Parker describes an interactive TV game show known as "BUMP" that is both shocking and offensive. Apparently the premise is to decide whether unborn babies have the right to live or die, given the audience's view of the relative merits of the potential caretakers involved in each newborn-to-be's life.

Unfortunately, Ms. Parker's take on the show is that it is only "disturbing and slightly creepy." Other descriptions come to mind: appalling, apocalyptic, abhorrent (you get the picture). Ms. Parker also writes that "We're not supposed to judge anyone, of course..."

Of course, whether the unborn baby lives or dies is the judgment the show requests from its viewers. For your many readers who believe that abortion in many circumstances is tantamount to murder, the premise of this show - and the nearly lighthearted tone of the article - is offensive.
