Police release Batavia bank robber photos
Authorities on Monday released surveillance photos of a bank robber wanted for a holdup in Batavia last week.
Police said the robber entered Chase Bank, 130 S. Batavia Ave., about 5:55 p.m. Feb. 2 and implied he had a weapon. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the robber left the bank running east along Main Street. No one was hurt.
Surveillance photos show the robber wearing a black quilted jacket with a fur-lined hood, black knit cap, black gloves and a mask. Police said the man, who appears to be in his mid-20s to early 30s, carried a white plastic shopping bag and also wore black pants, a gray shirt and black athletic shoes with white markings.
The bank robbery was Batavia's first since 2003, when a Harris Bank branch at Randall Road and Main Street was robbed.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Chicago FBI office at (630) 505-5755 or Batavia police at (630) 454-2500.
