'Real Americans' will fix this mess

President Obama, your pledge to freeze spending for 10 percent of the budget is phony when the deficit rises by millions every minute. If you froze the whole budget, that would be a start, but you seem more interested in political sound bites than the real work of the people. Since you seem so uninformed on this subject, I suggest you read the Illinois-created Web site www.truthinaccounting.org.

You will get my vote when you: 1. Balance the budget 2. Start to pay down the debt As for my wife and I, we live within our means (unlike all government entities, from the Indian Prairie Unit District 204 school board to Washington, D.C) and we pay our bills on time like millions of Americans do. We don't subscribe to tax, splurge, borrow, repeat, which is what all elected officials stick us with these days.

We have no interest in having our hard-earned money used to fund bogus programs and unnecessary gold-plated schools that give our money to contractors and fund kick backs for people who live off the government dole.

Sir, so far you are a joke and your hope is nothing but hype. The sooner you and all these tax-and-spend liberals leave office, the sooner real Americans can start to fix the mess you have left us. In the time it took you to read this, the budget deficit rose by another $20 million.
