Ex-Plainfield bus driver pleads guilty to child porn

A former suburban Chicago school bus driver has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to possessing child pornography and transmitting it over the Internet.

Mario Meschino was taken into custody by federal marshals after he entered his plea Wednesday before Judge Charles Kocoras.

The 46-year-old Meschino, who was employed by a bus company that serviced the Plainfield school district in Will County, was allowed to visit with his mother briefly before marshals led him away.

He faces a maximum of 30 years and a $500,000 fine. Prosecutors said they would drop two other pornography charges. Kocoras set April 14 for sentencing.
