Buffalo Grove High to perform Steve Martin play

Buffalo Grove High School will present a play written by comedic genius Steve Martin, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 4-6, in the school theater.

Thursday's curtain is 7 p.m. while performances for Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m.

Martin's first full-length comedy is about a fictional 1904 encounter between Albert Einstein (played by junior Michael O'Konis) and Pablo Picasso (senior Trevor Harris) in a legendary bohemian Parisian bistro, the Lapin Agile (the "Swift Rabbit").

The unlikely pair of young geniuses on the verge of transforming the 20th century enjoy an interesting evening of philosophical discussion, along with their friends.

Science and art have never been so funny!

Other cast members are seniors Cassie Johnstone, MacKenzie Rivkin, Becky Krause, and Lindsey Smith; junior Zach Allen; sophomores Natalie Kozelka and Miguel Melgar; and freshmen Sophia Kravets and Paige Larkowski.

The director is Brian Denesha; assistant Director Stephen Colella; technical Director Edward Moon; costume/makeup coordinator Debbie Andres; and house manager Betsy Ludemann.

General admission tickets will be available at the door for $5, or may be purchased in advance in the school's main office. (847) 718-4000.
