Out of touch with pro-choice views
My compliments to Chuck Goudie for his clear thinking Jan. 25 column in the Daily Herald in which he exposes the disparity of Catholic candidates for office who profess to be Catholic, yet hold to pro-choice beliefs that are incompatible with the basic beliefs of the church.
Unfortunately, many will profess what they believe will get them elected or what will finance their getting elected, and unfortunately they lag behind the beliefs of their constituency - almost 60 percent of whom believe that abortion is wrong. Perhaps it is time for such government officials to move from being pretenders to being grounded in preserving the life and well-being of real people and representing them faithfully.
