Krajewski wins county board Dist. 3
Former Downers Grove Mayor Brian Krajewski sailed to victory and won the Republican nomination to represent District 3 on the DuPage County Board.
With all 124 precincts reporting, unofficial counts show Krajewski ahead of the field with approximately 48 percent of the vote.
Krajewski bested a three-man field in the primary balloting. His opponents were former Assistant Illinois Attorney General Greg Abbott, now a lawyer in private practice, and Dennis Brennan, a member of the county health board and a school board president in Hinsdale.
Abbot took almost 28 percent of the vote in the primary, while Brennan earned just more than 24 percent of the vote.
Krajewski touts his municipal experience, promising to help attract businesses to DuPage to help increase sales tax revenues and create local jobs.
He advances to the November general election to compete against Karol Sole, an environmental consultant from Westmont. Sole ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
District 3 includes all or parts of Bolingbrook, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Lemont, Westmont, Willowbrook and Woodridge.
