Carpentersville police searching for suspects in home invasion
Carpentersville police are searching for two men who bound two adults and a 5-year-old child Monday night in a home invasion on the village's west side.
Police responded at 9:19 p.m. to a call of a home invasion on the 4000 block of Stratford Lane. The victims - a man, his wife and their 5-year-old child - told police that shortly after they arrived home, two men wearing ski masks entered the home through an open garage door, a news release said. One of the men was carrying a handgun, the release said.
The suspects bound the three family members and began to take items from the home. A short time later, the two men left the scene in a red two-door sedan.
Carpentersville Police Cmdr. Tim Bosshart did not know how long the victims were tied up and could not confirm what items were stolen from the home.
Police said none of the victims were injured in the incident. Carpentersville detectives and evidence technicians did collect physical evidence at the scene, which will be sent to the state police crime lab for analysis. Bosshart would not release details on the evidence collected.
Additional details were not immediately available.
