Scouting: NIU @ Kent St.
Northern Illinois (8-11, 4-3) at Kent State (14-7, 5-2)When: 6 p.m. at the M.A.C. CenterRadio: WSCR 670-AMSkinny: The Huskies didn't have much time to prepare for the MAC's hottest team. The Flashes have won four in a row, including a 35-point win over the Buffalo squad that won by 12 on Saturday in DeKalb. Kent State features four double-figure scorers led by sophomore power forward Justin Greene (13.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg). NIU needs to shore up its defensive inadequacies. The Huskies allowed 194 points last week in two home losses. On the plus side, nobody seems to be able to stop Xavier Silas. He's averaging 24 points in MAC action while shooting 40 percent on 3-pointers, but sophomore PG Mike DiNunno is the Huskies' only other long-range threat.
