Learn about Illinois' native peoples at Geneva History Center

American Indian expert Meg Bero will conduct a lecture called "Native Americans of Illinois" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St.

Bero serves as the curator for the Schingoethe Center for Native American Studies in Aurora and teaches museum studies at Aurora University. Her lecture will focus on the first people who called Illinois home, including Chief Waubonsee's people, the Potawatomi, who lived in the Fox River Valley.
