Politicians should honor do-not-call

I am a charter member of the Federal "Do Not Call List." For those of you who do not know about this, it is a place to list your phone number so that telemarketers and other pests cannot call you. In addition, I pay extra for an unlisted number.

I give my number to those people I want to hear from - no one else. A few charities and organizations have it also, but it is my choice who I want to hear from.

There are exceptions and there is one very serious exception.

Politicians have made themselves exempt from this law.

There are a few things wrong with this. You and I have to obey the law, so why shouldn't politicians have to do so? Why do they think they are so special? If they don't have to obey the letter of the law why shouldn't they have to obey the spirit of it?

In any case, these people are an intrusion and won't get my vote. If they don't feel the need for ethics with the small stuff, how will they act with the big stuff?

I am tired of having to live under two sets of laws, one for them and another for us.
