Villa Park man charged over child pornography
A Villa Park man was charged with trafficking in child pornography on the Internet, in a complaint filed Friday in U.S. District Court.
According to the complaint, FBI agents executed a search warrant Friday on the residence of James Thielberg, 60, of the 1S200 block of Ingersoll Lane in Villa Park.
Thielberg admitted to possessing more than 1,000 images of child pornography on his computer and sharing them over the Internet, the complaint said.
The complaint said Thielberg was first detected by FBI agents using a file-sharing service in October. They found evidence that someone was sharing images of child pornography involving both boys and girls, and that the user name was later linked to a computer at Thielberg's address.
Thielberg also apparently had another user name to share child pornography, including images of bondage and torture, and that was linked to the same computer, authorities said.
Thielberg's next court hearing is Wednesday
He faces between five years and 20 years if convicted.
