Dirty tricks, robocalls aren't winning votes

I am thoroughly disgusted with the type of political war that it being passed off as a campaign. As a voter, I want to know how each candidate plans to solve the problems, both ethically and monetarily, that plague our country, state, county, and city. I am sick and tired of the negative, insulting, degrading types of ads that are being used. Dan Hynes use of former Mayor Washington's comments regarding Pat Quinn is truly reaching a new low in politics.

Dan Hynes was barely able to vote at the time Harold Washington was in office and it is an obvious ploy to attract African-American voters. Funny, because Dan Hynes' father did everything he could to prevent Harold Washington from getting elected.

Not to leave Pat Quinn out, I am not happy with him as a candidate either, though at least he has not stooped into the gutter for his campaign.

It's really sad that we have two Democratic candidates for the highest office in this state and neither one has the "right stuff."

On a related note, I want to put all the candidates for any and every office on notice; do not robocall my home. These calls do not encourage me to vote for your candidate; on the contrary, I am less likely to vote for the candidate that interrupts my evenings with these intrusive phone calls.

If you want my vote, show me how you are the better-qualified person for office that you want. I vote based on merit, not phone calls!
