Prospect High jazz group wins honors

Under the direction of Music Director Patrick O'Connor, Prospect High School's Jazz Ensemble II received Superior Ratings and was awarded first place out of 20 Class AA high school second jazz ensembles in the 33rd Annual North Shore Jazz Festival at Glenbrook South High School on Saturday, Jan. 23.

Prospect's Jazz Ensemble I also received Superior Ratings and placed fourth out of 18 Class AA high school jazz ensembles. Prospect's jazz combo received Superior Ratings and was awarded second place out of 16 Class AA high school combos. Solo award recognition went to a pair of Prospect juniors: Robby Mack on alto saxophone and Tom Kelly on drums.
