How do we now care for those in need?

Dear friends, gleeful that the election of a Republican Senator in Massachusetts will kill President Obama's heath care plan, what is the alternative proposal to care for the more than 46 million Americans without and in need of health care?

And how will we Christians answer, when on judgment day according to the Bible (Matthew 25) Jesus asks, "When I was sick, did you care for me?"
