Dist. 214 sending flock of musicians to All-State Festival

District 214 students have been selected among the finest high school musicians in the state to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State Festival on Jan. 27-30 in Peoria, Ill.

The following District 214 students have been chosen as All-State participants:

• Buffalo Grove High School-David Campos-All-State Chorus (Tenor I), Mike Wedoff-Jazz Band (Piano), and Molly Jackson-Future Music Educators Seminar. Buffalo Grove music teachers are Edward Jacobi (Band), Debora Utley (Choir), and Elizabeth Magill (Orchestra).

• Elk Grove High School-Ted Lempkowski-Orchestra (Oboe), Olga Bednarek-Honors Chorus (Alto II), and Deanna Voss-All-State Chorus (Alto II). Elk Grove music teachers are Ron Fiorito (Band), Renee DeJager (Choir), and William Baar (Orchestra).

• John Hersey High School-Andrew Birschbach-Band (Trombone), Andrew Hess-Band (Euphonium), Kristin Holz-Band (Bb Clarinet), Michael Ozga-Band (Trumpet), Michael Plankey-Band (Bass Clarinet), Mark Swanson-Band (Tuba), Erin Wells-Band (Bassoon), Natalie Gaynor-Orchestra (Violin I), Christine Rovani-Orchestra (Violin II), and Alan Snow-Orchestra (Violin I). Hersey music teachers are Scott Casagrande (Band), Sara Michael (Choir), and Christine Beverson (Orchestra).

• Prospect High School-Michelle Boggess-All-State Chorus (Soprano I), Robby Mack-Honors Chorus (Bass I), Claire Reibel-All-State Chorus (Alto I), and Anna Wegner-All-State Chorus (Alto II). Prospect music teachers are Chris Barnum (band), Jen Troiano and Steve Collela (Choir), and Patrick O'Connor (Orchestra and Jazz).

• Rolling Meadows High School-Melissa Priller-Orchestra (Violin). Rolling Meadows music teachers are Michael Riggs (Orchestra), Christopher Buti (Band), and Kim Stromberg (Choir).

• Wheeling High School-Samantha Bell-Brown-Band (Bb Clarinet), Emma Leland-Orchestra (Violin I), and Billy Kort-Jazz Band (Trumpet). Wheeling music teachers are Brian Logan (Band), Kirstin Snelten (Choir), and Tobin Langridge (Orchestra).
