For 9th Congressional District, Green: Ribeiro

The Illinois Green Party offers two choices in the 9th Congressional District, which stretches from Des Plaines to the lakefront. Retired journalist Morris "Moe" Shanfield says he seeks to educate rather than to necessarily win votes. He also says further cuts in carbon emissions will eventually reduce the cost of U.S. goods. Simon Ribeiro, a schoolteacher, aptly articulates plans for a single-payer health care system, a centralized national bank and a reduction in pork spending. He has high ideals but acknowledges he is proposing huge fundamental changes. We believe Ribeiro to be the better candidate.
