St. Edward's boys basketball team won its second straight game, beating Montini 63-50 in a Suburban Christian Conference crossover in Lombard on Wednesday.

Senior D.J. Byrnes led the Green Wave with a team-high 14 points, including four 3-pointers, as St. Edward improved to 9-11 on the season. Paul Bianchi added 10 points and Cody Jeralds and Zack Von Ahnen each scored 8 points for the victorious Green Wave.

Cary-Grove 58, McHenry 51: Nick Richter scored 14 points and Chad McCarron added 10 points, all in the fourth quarter, as Cary-Grove (8-10, 2-1) knocked off the Warriors in a Valley Division game in the Fox Valley Conference in Cary. It was the third win in four games for the Trojans, who sank 8-of-10 free throws in the fourth quarter, 7 by Richter. Senior Josh McNaughton led McHenry with 20 points.
