Fox Valley Park District to present 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'

The Fox Valley Park District's Winter Stage production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" will be performed Jan. 22-24, at the Prisco Community Center in Aurora.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22 and 23, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Jan. 24.

Based on the popular Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, "Charlie Brown" is a fast-paced, lighthearted musical that portrays a day in the life of the ever-beleaguered lead character. But the "day" is actually a compilation of little moments picked from all of Charlie's experiences, from Valentine's Day to baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends, including Snoopy and Woodstock.

"All of the best Peanuts comic strips come to life in this show, and it's combined with music and dance," said director Nathan Cotter. "If you like to laugh about everyday situations, you'll love this show."

The cast consists of 41 members who bring Charlie's travails to life with humor, music and stories reflective of the Charlie Brown movie and television productions. The performance includes 15 songs and "one laugh after another," Cotter said.

Main characters include: Oswego resident Mark Brody as Schroeder; and Aurora residents Natalie Broschka as Charlie Brown, Madison Moser as Sally Brown, Dan Keller as Linus Van Pelt, Audrey Hare as Lucy Van Pelt, Madeline Weber as Snoopy, Rian Sondag as Peppermint Patty, Olivia Leonardi as Marcy, Nicholas Sondag as Pig Pen, Alanna Friker as Charlotte, Caroline Bourg as Frieda, Alexandra Rising as Violet, Mary Catherine May as Woodstock 1, Janie Voris as Woodstock 2 and Carla Dillinger as Woodstock 3.

Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door. Call the Prisco Community Center at (630) 859-8606.
