Cold weather programs
Cold weather fans can learn about ways to enjoy the season in the DuPage County forest preserves during the free "Wonders of Winter" event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Mayslake Forest Preserve, 1717 W. 31st St., Oak Brook. Activities will take place both inside and outside and, depending on the weather, participants can try their hands at everything from ice fishing to walking in snowshoes. Group celebrates spirituals
Chicago a cappella celebrates African-American spirituals when it performs "Roll, Jordan, Roll: The Spiritual, Old and New" at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 in North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. 'Prayer for Life' set
Naperville Christians for Life will conduct their annual Interdenominational Prayer Service for Life at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at Naperville Congregational Church at Washington and 75th streets.
