Alerts issued after robberies reported near UIC

Three robberies have been reported recently near the University of Illinois at Chicago, prompting police to issue a community alert warning.
The University of Illinois at Chicago also has issued a campus crime alert about the robberies and robbery attempts. Police say the three robberies happened between Jan. 9 and last Tuesday.
Authorities say victims were approached from behind by two suspects, beaten and knocked to the ground.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
