Northwestern tops Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Gophers women's basketball team is hurting.
Minnesota lost at Northwestern 61-60 on Sunday, falling to 11-7 overall and 4-3 in the Big Ten. The Gophers also played that game without starting guard China Antoine. She hurt her left knee in practice on Saturday and is to be further evaluated on Monday. Antoine has been one of Minnesota's best players this season.
The Gophers led 60-57 with less than 2 minutes left, but the Wildcats came through at the free-throw line for the lead. Brittany McCoy had a last-second jumper just inside the 3-point line for the win, but the shot bounced hard off the rim.
Minnesota's next game is this Sunday, at home against Michigan State.
