Damsky back on top as general manager at WLS stations
Long Grove's Michael Damsky has been named general manager of all-talk WLS 890-AM and oldies 94.7-FM.
Damsky previously worked his way to the top at adult-contemporary WXRT 93.1-FM, but was let go two years ago as part of executive layoffs by CBS Radio. He hooked on with WLS-AM and -FM and had been director of sales for Citadel Broadcasting's Chicago stations up until the promotion. He replaces Mike Fowler immediately.
Damsky worked 24 years at 'XRT and also helped build up all-sports WSCR 670-AM as an ad executive and sales manager. He lives in Long Grove with his wife of 35 years, Helaine, a retired teacher; they have two adult daughters.
