Can terrorism be political boon?
Since President Obama was elected, former Vice-President Cheney and those who think similarly have been complaining about the president and terrorist attacks. Besides the fear mongering that they are apparently attempting for political reasons, I've gotten to the point where I feel as if they truly want an attack on this country so that they can use it for political purposes?
Since the thwarted attack on Christmas they have called for the resignation of various people within the Department of Homeland Security. This despite the fact that we still do not know all of the facts in the case.
One only substitute Iraq or Afghanistan for terror in the "War on Terror" and you can tell their purposes. In the last six months, this country has had two terrorist attacks. One at Ft. Hood and one in Afghanistan. So why is it that these same folks haven't been asking for the resignations of Lt. Gen. Cone, Gen. McChrystal or Secretary Gates? Could it be that they know that any attack on those in the military would be viewed for what it is and be politically disadvantageous?
In my 61 years in this country, I have never seen rhetoric of this sort. I am truly sickened by all of this.
I hope that other Americans remember the actions of these folks come election time.
