Don't ask me to pray for the terrorists
Ed Smetana states in Fence Post that God's system worked.
Mr. Smetana asks if God foiled the attempt of the inept would-be murderer to take the lives of more than 200 people because he didn't want his son's birthday ruined. Who knows? I would like to think that if the bomber failed because of divine intervention it was because God loved all the would-be victims and saved them because of his unmatched mercy (and possibly to expose the lack of efficiency in this administration).
Mr. Smetana asks us to forgive the bomber and to pray for all misguided terrorists. We should pray for Osama Bin Ladin and his ilk? Mr. Smetana, I will pray for you.
