A Carpentersville man could spend the next 30 years behind bars after being found guilty of beating another man with a baseball bat in May.
Antwan Deon Youngblood, 29, with a last known address of 1300 block of York Drive, was found guilty for the May 28, 2008, attack in the 2700 block of Hopi Lane in the northwest suburb.
He was also found guilty of armed violence and two counts of aggravated battery.
He is due to be sentenced on March 4, prosecutors said.
Police said 21-year-old Antonio Wright of Carpentersville was discovered at 11:30 p.m. on May 28 lying in the road on Hopi Lane.
The man was unconscious and had a severe head injury, and was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
At the time, police said the victim had been shooting BBs at passing cars and one of them struck the red Pontiac Youngblood was driving.
Youngblood got out of the car, argued with the victim and then left. However, he returned later, argued with Wright again, then beat him with the bat, police said.
Youngblood was on parole for delivery of a controlled substance and aggravated battery to a police officer, according to state records.
