Thomson prison is a bad deal

Gov. Pat Quinn and Senator Dick Durbin need to take a course in Economics. They are both excited about the prospect of selling an Illinois prison to the federal government. The government has no money - it will use taxpayers' money. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, they say, to create about 3,000 jobs. But the employees will be paid by taxpayers' money. The government has no money.

This is simply a transfer of wealth from taxpayers to government workers. Then to add more insult to injury, the prison will be used to house Guantanamo Bay detainees among other inmates. Wow. What a deal!
