Prison plan doesn't add up for Illinois

Gov. Pat Quinn and Senator Dick Durbin need to take a class in economics.

Both are excited about the prospect of selling the prison to the federal government (taxpayers' money) and creating about 3,000 jobs (employees will be paid by taxpayers' money).

This is simply a transfer of wealth from taxpayers to government employees. The taxpayers will have less money for other purchases. And, the icing on the government cake is that this is to house Guantanamo Bay detainees among other inmates. Wow! Such a deal.
